Ok this one hardly needs a recipe – it’s that simple. Why (I hear you cry) would I want to make my own air freshener when I can simply purchase the fragrance of autumn leaves/summer meadows/ocean freshness in a handy spray can or funny little plug in gadget?
Well, mostly because those fragrances suck. They’re full of nasty chemicals, terrible for the environment and don’t actually smell anything like autumn leaves/summer meadows/ocean freshness. Or maybe that’s just me.
Anyway, I like my fragrances to be fresh and natural and I don’t want myself or my family to be breathing in any unnecessary nasties.
So – here it is. The super-simple, make-it-yourself, all natural air freshener.
1 cup water
20 drops eucalyptus oil or other essential oil of your choice such as tea tree, lavender or lemon.
Put water and oils in a spray bottle and shake. Spray as needed.
There. Didn’t I tell you it was easy? I like to keep one in the toilet but it gets a tour around the house every so often too when I feel like adding a bit of zing to the air.
