This is my guilty pleasure since being pregnant now that autumn has set in. Well, if I’m really honest, I don’t actually feel guilty at all because there’s nothing bad in this and it tastes delicious. Forget your premixed powdered hot chocolates that are full of unpronounceable ingredients and make yourself a mug from scratch. You won’t be sorry for long!
Makes one mug
1 mug milk (please none of that low-fat, homogenised crap. Keep it real, folks.)
1 heaped tsp cocoa powder
1/2 tsp ground ginger
1/4 tsp turmeric
1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1 tsp raw honey
1. Whisk all ingredients except the honey into the milk and heat on the stove until hot (but not boiling).
2. Stir in honey and serve.
3. Drink whilst watching your favourite show or reading a book. The trashier, the better.
