If you’re like me and you prefer to let it mellow if it’s yellow then you probably find your loo gets pretty whiffy, pretty quickly. Especially in summer. Gross.
While I love to be able to save water here and there, I definitely don’t love having to clean the toilet more often, or else doing my business whilst holding my breath (if hubby and I are having a ‘who’s turn it is to clean the toilet’ stand-off).
So I would like to share with you this nifty little recipe that will keep you going that little bit longer between cleans (whosever turn it is). It’s cheap, easy and, best of all, free of nasty chemicals.
1/2 cup of bicarbonate of soda
10 drops of eucalyptus oil, or other oil of your choice such as tea tree, lavender or lemon.
1. Put ingredients in a flour sifter or similar shakeable container.
2. Mix well so the oils don’t clump up the bicarb. You can also pop in one of those little silicon sachets if you have one (you know, the ones you’re not supposed to eat).
3. Sprinkle in toilet bowl after flushing as often as needed. I recommend first thing in the morning especially if you don’t flush at night. Flush then sprinkle.
You can also supersize your toilet freshness by making your own air freshener. Wow!
